Sidney Hammer, MA, CCC-SLP
SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Sidney became interested in Speech Language Pathology when she was in high school applying for colleges. She attended Ohio University for her Bachelors degree and Cleveland State University for her Masters in Speech Language Pathology. Sidney became “hooked” while observing a session during her coursework. During the session, the therapist focused on eye contact, joint attention, and social greeting with her client. After the session Sidney, waited outside the therapy room for the client to walk down the hall to Occupational Therapy. When he looked up, he grabbed her hand and said “Hi, let’s go!”, and she knew she was headed into the right field. She has worked in a variety of settings including skilled nursing facilities and schools and began at Delaware Speech and Hearing Center in Summer 2015. Sidney’s interests include enjoying the outdoors, fishing, spending time with her husband and two children, and horseback riding. She is also interested in performing speech therapy with clients on horseback (called Hippotherapy) and is currently pursuing her certification for Therapeutic Riding.
