Helping Children Reach Their Full Potential

Is your child:

  • Struggling to meet key motor milestones?
  • Falling behind peers in physical development?
  • In need of extra support to gain independence in movement?

Whether it’s rolling, sitting, crawling, or walking with confidence, delays in motor skills can be concerning for any parent. But there’s hope — and help.

Delaware Speech & Hearing Center offers Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), an innovative therapy designed for children with motor delays. We provide this specialized care to help children build strength, balance, and coordination while working toward developmental milestones.

Early intervention can make all the difference. DMI is an innovative, evidence-based therapy that strengthens automatic postural responses and supports steady progress in motor development. It can benefit children with a wide range of challenges, including:

  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Down Syndrome
  • Global developmental delay
  • Hypotonia
  • Genetic or chromosomal conditions
  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Brain injury
  • Prematurity

What makes this therapeutic technique different? DMI taps into the brain’s natural ability to change and grow. Using defined, dynamic exercises, it encourages purposeful movement and stimulates neuroplasticity, helping the brain form new connections and support motor learning.

Each movement is tailored by the therapist to spark the child’s active response and encourage new skills in a supportive, engaging environment.
