Delaware Speech & Hearing Center provides quality speech and language treatment, hearing healthcare, and education in order to improve communication skills.

We have been improving communication in Central Ohio for nearly 60 years. Our talented staff is licensed to provide the full range of speech pathology and audiology services, including the identification, assessment and treatment of speech, language, swallowing, hearing, and balance disorders.

Meet Our Professionals

Our staff is well trained, friendly, and supportive. Our audiologists all have advanced degrees from some of the most prestigious audiology training programs in the country, and are all licensed to practice in the state of Ohio. We understand your concerns, and we will answer any of your questions to ensure you feel informed through every step of the process to better communication.


Bethany Moore, MA, MSA

Bethany Moore, MA, MSA

Executive Director

Bethany brings a variety of administrative and clinical experience to her role as Executive Director, including experience as a pediatric audiologist, training manager for Early Intervention and Help Me Grow at the Ohio Department of Health, and a contract manager in the private sector at a medical supply business. Her guiding philosophies to quality clinical services include the importance of family-centered care and interdisciplinary team decision-making. Bethany has a master’s degree in audiology as well as a master’s degree in health services administration.

Erin Tarney, Au.D.

Erin Tarney, Au.D.

Director of Audiology

Erin earned her doctoral degree in audiology from The Ohio State University in 2014. She has experience working with both the adult and pediatric populations. Erin joined our team after working in a private practice setting and teaching as an adjunct faculty member at the university level. Erin loves working with hearing aid technology, and helping her patients reach their personal hearing goals through custom solutions. She especially enjoys working with patients who have tinnitus (ringing in the ears).


Debra Weisleder, Au.D., CCC-A

Audiologist

Debra earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Iowa, her Master of Science from the University of Arizona, and her Doctor of Audiology from the University of Florida. She has been practicing as an audiologist in a variety of settings, including a university clinic, ENT office, pediatric hospital, public schools, and private practices. Debra has many friends and family members with hearing loss and brings a personal understanding of the challenges hearing loss has on communication.


Donna Ramey, MA, CCC-A

Donna Ramey, MA, CCC-A

Audiologist

Donna earned her master’s degree in audiology from the University of Tennessee and brings over 20 years of experience working with children and adults in many settings, including ENT offices, private practices, and assisted living communities. Donna came into the audiology field as a sign language interpreter. She interpreted an audiology class and found it interesting, so she decided to go to graduate school to become an audiologist. The most intriguing part of her job is the creative problem solving she does every day by testing people and figuring out the best way to help them hear better.


Tasnim Hamza, Au.D.

Tasnim Hamza, Au.D.

Audiologist

Tasnim earned her Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Audiology from The Ohio State University. She has trained and worked in private practices, VA hospitals, and ENT clinics. She joined the Delaware Speech & Hearing Center in 2018. She is passionate about humanitarian work and volunteers as a lead audiology coordinator for yearly pediatric audiology missions to refugee camps overseas. The most inspiring part of her job as an audiologist is seeing the difference technology can make in people’s lives by allowing them to reconnect with their world.

Lead Speech Language Pathologist

Rhonda earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from The Ohio State University. She has worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home care, rehabilitation centers, elementary schools, Autism units, and preschools. Rhonda joined our team over 15 years ago. She developed the product Word-Flips which is published through Super Duper Inc. This is a great therapy tool for children with limited speech, unintelligible speech, or childhood apraxia of speech.


Laura Pierce, MA, CCC-SLP

Speech Language Pathologist

Laura received her bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology at the University of Toledo and her master’s degree from the University of Akron. She has worked in clinical and school settings with patients ranging from 6 months to 85 years old. She has years of specialized experience working with people with hearing loss, and enjoys helping children and young adults.

Speech Language Pathologist

Mackenzie earned her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and her graduate degree from the University of Akron. She has experience working in hospitals, assisted technology centers, high schools, elementary and preschools, Autism units, and rehabilitation centers. She joined the team in August 2018.

Speech Language Pathologist

Ciara became interested in speech language pathology after volunteering at a day camp for children with autism while she was in middle school. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and completed her master’s degree at Bowling Green State University. The most inspiring part of her job is seeing progress children make and when they have “aha” moments.


Sidney Hammer, MA, CCC-SLP

Sidney Hammer, MA, CCC-SLP

Speech Language Pathologist

Sidney became interested in speech language pathology when she was in high school. She attended Ohio University for her bachelor’s degree and Cleveland State University for her master’s in speech language pathology. Sidney has worked in a variety of settings, including skilled nursing facilities and schools, and began at Delaware Speech & Hearing Center in 2015. Sidney enjoys horseback riding in her free time and is interested in performing speech therapy with patients on horseback (called Hippo-therapy). She is currently pursuing her certification for Therapeutic Riding.

Speech Language Pathologist

Leslie received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in speech language pathology from the University of Toledo. She has worked in schools, clinical settings, and skilled nursing facility settings with patients from 2 months to 100 years old. Leslie has 6 years of specialized experience working with individuals with hearing loss.

Speech Language Pathologist

Katie became interested in the field of speech pathology after witnessing the positive impact it had on her younger brother years ago. She wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. Katie graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and completed her master’s at Ohio University. She has experience working with adults and children in variety of clinical and school settings.

Speech Language Pathologist

Megan is a graduate of the University of Toledo where she majored in speech language pathology after witnessing her father have a stroke and receiving speech therapy. Megan enjoys providing individual consultations in wellness.

Suzanne has been with Delaware Speech & Hearing Center for 18 years. She grew up in an insurance family and is a strong advocate for patients. She can maximize insurance benefits for any of the services our non-profit agency has to offer.

Lindsay has worked in the medical claims field for 20 years. Her experience includes payment and claims processor, A/R specialist, auditor, trainer, and customer service manager.

Board of Directors

Volunteer professionals from our community give their time, energy, talent, and finances to further the mission of Delaware Speech & Hearing Center by serving on our Board of Directors.

Our Board of Directors is an active group made up of volunteers from all parts of the Delaware community. We are looking for new board members! Board meetings are held once a month, and participation is also required for several special events per year.
